The Cut Bar & Grill

Mother's Day Restaurants The Rocks Sydney

Colonial-era sandstone buildings throughout The Rocks create the backdrop for Mother’s Day Sydney celebrations. Lebanese charcoal grills, Japanese counter dining, and heritage steakhouses fill the precinct. Reservations are recommended early for May 10th.

The Cut Bar & Grill

Cape Grim Black Angus fillet served off the bone headlines the Mother’s Day menu at The Cut Bar & Grill, paired with red wine sauce, horseradish cream, and thick-cut chips cooked in beef drippings. Sourdough with whipped Wagyu tallow opens the meal before yellowfin tuna with piquillo peppers and cumin. The sandstone cellar beneath The Rocks features candlelit tables.

Saké Restaurant & Bar

Ora King Salmon Yaki finished with nanban sits at the centre of the Mother’s Day set menu at Saké The Rocks, where sushi masters work the counter in full view. House salad with radicchio, gem lettuce, and ginger soy vinaigrette balances the richer plates. Premium sake and Japanese-inspired cocktails complement each course, while the robata grill runs throughout service.

Bar Patrón

Perched above Circular Quay at the edge of The Rocks, Glacier 51 toothfish with Oaxacan-style adobo leads the Mother’s Day menu at Bar Patrón, while brisket birria quesadilla filled with Oaxaca cheese makes a strong case for ordering seconds. The only venue worldwide built entirely around Patrón tequila, Bar Patrón offers harbour views from Circular Quay at every table. The bar stocks the full tequila range, with cocktails flowing throughout the celebration.

Sahtein

Sahtein opened in February as The Rocks’ first Lebanese restaurant, bringing wood fire and charcoal cooking to the precinct. Batata harra and charcoal-grilled meats lead the Mother’s Day banquet, with smoke and char running through plates from the visible kitchen. Generous mezze and mixed grill skewers suit larger family tables celebrating together.

Ananas

Ananas returns to The Rocks in May, opening at the Argyle Stores with a four-course Mother’s Day menu. Confit duck leg with apple, bitter leaves, and gastrique stands out among the mains, with steak tartare and pain de mie arriving earlier in the progression. The brasserie format works for celebrations that stretch across multiple courses, with the Argyle Stores’ sandstone interior setting the backdrop.

The Garden

The Garden on Argyle Street offers a place to start Mother’s Day, with Paul Bangay’s landscape responding to The Rocks’ sandstone architecture. Open from 8 am, the space works for morning coffee through to evening drinks. Happy Hour from 5–7 pm brings $7 cocktails, beers, and wine among the greenery, a gentle transition before dinner elsewhere in The Rocks.

Book The Rocks Venues

The Rocks concentrates Mother’s Day dining into sandstone cellars and harbour-view tables. Cape Grim beef, charcoal-grilled Lebanese meats, and Japanese precision fill the precinct for Sunday May 10th.
